What's in a Storm Kit

The weather here in North Texas doesn’t mess around. When the power goes out, the text alerts start coming in, or when we would wake up in a daze to tornado sirens, our routine was usually to stumble around and figure out the next step or try to make a plan in the moment. Eventually, with kids in the picture, it became clear our usual routine wasn’t working out all that well.

I now have what I call my “storm kit” in our bedroom.

Here’s what’s inside.

Note: we store our batteries next to our storm kit which is why they aren’t included in mine. If you don’t have a designated battery storage, you may consider adding a variety pack to your kit.
